I love being a birth doula. It is an honor to serve birthing persons and families as they journey into parenthood. I consider it a privilege to support, empower and educate the families. I do not like witnessing moments when birthing persons are mistreated. With the maternal health crisis we are in, I do not take negative experiences lightly. As a mom of three, the most challenging aspect of being a doula is the irregular and unpredictable nature of being on-call for births. This is a challenge that I consider an honor to work through!
