Granny’s Herbal Remedies and Doula Services
Zameika Edwards
Zameika, a dedicated and passionate doula who is driven by her deep appreciation for the beauty of childbirth. Inspired by her great grandmother’s stories of catching babies as a midwife, Zameika has always found the process of bringing new life into the world to be both rewarding and empowering. Reflecting on her own experiences as a mother, she realizes the immense value of having unwavering support and guidance from a doula throughout the journey. Zameika’s prior work experiences and educational background greatly complement her role as a doula. With an associate's degree in Psychology and certification as an herbalist, she brings a unique blend of understanding and expertise to her practice. Her psychological knowledge allows her to empathize with and support her clients during times of stress and worry, while her herbalist skills enable her to incorporate natural comfort measures using herbs and oils during labor. In addition to her doula work, Zameika dedicates her time to volunteering her herbal skills to her community. She firmly believes that everyone should have access to natural remedies, regardless of their financial situation. This philanthropic mindset is a core aspect of her doula practice, ensuring that she provides the best possible care to all her clients. Zameika resides in East Texas with her loving husband of 10 years and their two wonderful children, aged 5 and 17. Completing their family are two beloved pets; a lively American pitbull named Rico and a confident micro–French Bulldog who reigns as the ruler of the house. Originally from Bastrop, Texas, Zameika and her family made the decision to relocate to Crockett, Texas following the winter storms. They were drawn to the small and welcoming nature of the town, as well as the individual attention their children would receive in school. Zameika saw this as an opportunity to bring her growing doula skills to a community where they would be greatly valued. When she’s not working, Zameika indulges in her love for continuous learning. She eagerly enrolls in various classes to expand her knowledge and enhance her skills, ensuring that she stays at the forefront of her field. In her moments of relaxation, she finds solace in painting while listening to music, capturing precious moments with her camera, and immersing herself in the pages of a captivating book. Above all, spending quality time with her family is Zameika’s greatest joy; they are her constant source of love, inspiration, and support.
